Urgently require Steel Structure Engineer to work in Brazil to work on major petrochemical project

Your duties include - -
-Reviewing the structural installations as they are built to ensure compliance with the company's specifications, drawings, Engineering Office Notes and fabrication drawings for underground piping and
concrete.

-On behalf of the CLIENT maintain a watching brief on the quality of construction by regular work place inspections. Draw to the attention of the CLIENT quality concerns and non-compliance issues which need to
be addressed by the construction contractor - Note Company has no contractual responsibility in this matter.

This will include ensuring the construction contractor implements the following critical structural steel construction activities -

-Ensure that all bracing members are in place and fully bolted before load is applied to the structure.
-Ensure all bolts are fully tightened in all joints before load is applied to the structure.
-Ensure that a proprietary grout is placed before base plates before load is applied to structures.
-Examine the quality of preparation and of paint repair to site welding.

-Assess construction technical problems encountered by the construction
contractor and any associated request by the construction contractor to deviate from the approved for construction design data. Such deviations will be addressed at site as far as possible or with the support of
companies' Home Office engineering team and addressed by way of an approved Engineering Instruction issued on behalf of the CLIENT to the construction contractor.

-Obtaining mark-ups of any as-built changes to steelwork. Note these mark-ups will be drawn by the engineering contractor responsible for detail design (ISBL / OSBL).

-Maintaining a watching brief on the safety aspects of the structural design and construction and identifying any problems to the comp Site General Representative.

-Responding to queries relating to the company civil specifications, drawings and the fabrication drawings.
The individual must be fully aware at all times of safety matters.
This is a fixed term contract with a minimum duration of 12months.
